I've been pondering for a month or so about this coin. Finally I gave in and here she is. I am not familiar with this series, but figured I could not be hurt too bad. It's in an old PCI slab. This coin left me quite confused. The obverse looks quite good, but the reverse looks circulated to me. It appears to be quite original and problem free. Looks like the die is rotated about 30 degrees or so. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Edited by wwhitman 07/22/2011 3:33 pm

XF45/au53 but bust coins are tough to grade for me.

I would guess AU-50 to AU-53.

I'd say nice vf, hair detail looks too good.

I don't know what they are missing. I see just the slightest wear to the high points of the cheek and curls on the obverse and the reverse has about the same amount of wear on only a few of the highest portions of the eagle's wings, head and talons. Overall this coin would be an AU-55 easy and possibly as high as AU-58. It looks like it has slightly less wear than my 1811 capped bust half which was graded AU-55 by PCGS. Ed ANA LM-3175

I agree with most and definitely see an AU coin. Great acquisition!

Further my last - what grade did PCI assign? I've bought a few things in their slabs and they really weren't far off, if at all, on their grading.

My guess is AU-50. Great details, but lack of luster may hold it back from a higher AU.

1810's usually have weak strikes, this one has a nice strong one. I'm going to say AU-55.

Ok, I like this coin but I can't get any of the Overton diagnostics to agree with a Die Marriage. And that frustrates me... Any one else get something? (Please!)

I am going a bit higher on this one and say AU-58. Looks like only a trace of rub.

Wear on the OBVERSE: cheek, breast, high points on hair, cap, and some of the rim denticles. REVERSE: eagles head, high points of the wing, talons, and leaves. Over all this one nice BUSTIE AU-55
