Hi All,

I found these two coins in my basement and was interested in having them graded and knowing their approximate value. I know they should have a melt weight of about $30. From what I've read they appear to be fairly good quality, although I'm still unsure because of the small nick marks. Thank you for any help you can offer. Let me know if the pictures need to be better.

Cool find! Welcome to CCF by the way

Unfortunately, these two coins are not worth much more than melt value. This is because they are both very common dates, millions of them were made. Also, they appear to have surface scratches consistent with a harsh cleaning.

Not a bad find though. If you're not already into collecting, this is a great start.

Agreed, they are worth melt as they both appears to have been polished or harshly clean.

That's too bad because otherwise the features are fairly well defined. I noticed the abrasion on the surface, but wasn't sure of the significance. Now I know. Thanks for the help. They are nice pieces in any case so I'll probably keep them around.
