I have been searching for this one for awhile. At first I thought it was a Japanese puppet states, but the obverse and reverse are the same. Now I'm thinking it's just a token. Does anyone know what this is? It's made from aluminum. Thanks.

I think it is probably a Japanese token.

The Japanese write kanji (Chinese characters) a little differently than the Chinese but I am pretty sure that the two characters at the top are 松岛.

This is the Japanese name for the scenic coastal city of Matsushima in northeast Japan.

Incidentally, Matsushima was hit hard during the March earthquake and tsunami.
