Just wanted to share with the group.
I have been wanting to take some shots of it ever since I purchased it
a couple of years ago. From a local coin shop
I love the kind of purplish red toning on this one.
Hard to get it to come out fully in the photos.
I am still learning the art of photographing coins.

Hi daviscfad,

I can definitely understand your thinking on the plating issue.
But I am certain that it is not plated. I have a few
high mint condition 43 Lincoln's and the surface textures
are the same it is just that I believe this particular one
was stored before it came into my possession in some kind
of holder that it reacted with to give it that toning.
I wish I was better at my photography.

I doubt it was plated since most plated ones do not have that excessive detailing. Note the line details on the Reverse in the wheats. Just to clear to be a plated one. Most of the plated ones too have suspect lettering where they appear to be smudged. Nice coin.
