Chadwick Valued Member United States 271 Posts	Posted 07/25/2011 4:28 pm I had a chance to nab one of these from a quarter slider machine about a year ago. I was watching it dailey in a local store. My plan was to wait until it got close to the edge and then spend about $20 in quarters to get it. I walked into the store and it was gone one day and I asked the guy working the store who got it. He told me some guy walked in and offered $20 dollars to buy the coin out of the machine. I felt a little sick and stupid. It was a nice one too. AU quality. Report this Post to the Staff

I have looked at the picture for a while and all I could tell is it looked too clean given the amount of wear on the coin. It that a correct assessment? Report this Post to the Staff
ACE Mike Valued Member United States 438 Posts	Posted 07/26/2011 03:43 am Coinut, We can't see the physical evidence of the cleaning (parallel scratches) but the color and overall look is wrong for a well circulated silver dollar. The color should be more gray, darker near the rims and design elements. Report this Post to the Staff

I do know that I listed one in the auction section of the forum with a start price of $50 a few months back....it sold for $54. If I remember correctly it was in slightly better condition than yours.
