I have tried in the past to sell "junk" silver on ebay but have found out that even if I am lucky enough to get spot, I end up with about $5.00 to $10.00 less after ebay fees and Paypal charges.

I have been "hoarding" my junk now, up to 20 pounds of silver so far. I let a few ounces go every now and then for 90% of spot just to have a little fun money.

I'd rather give someone a deal then fill the pockets of ebay.

Yes I still have PayPal fees (which is an ebay company) but thats how it gets you.

Oh, well no good deed shall go unnoticed, Yea right.

How do you make money on your bullion?

I dont. Tried selling a silver coin worth at least 7 dollars on ebay yesterday, and two people fought to the death over it. I ended up selling it for 4.25 lol...

Lesson learned - dont start an auction off at .99 cents, even if you think ppl will want it.

If I sell Bullion on ebay it is usually Bullion that brings a huge over spot premium

Canadian Maples, Wolves, Grizzleys
J&M bars 1 oz, 2 oz (I sold my last one for 190$) 5oz, 10oz, 20oz

When buying I also never buy common silver. luckily my dealer is stocked full of J&M bars he puts aside for me.

Joe, if you sell it on a site like this to "trusted" members, you can request they send Paypal "gift" or 'Payment owed', which doesn't charge either of you any fees to transfer. A way around their fees, but I only use this for deals when a ceratin amount of trust is involved, like on a msg board with a known trusted user since I believe this type of Paypal deal doesn't involve any protection for either party.

IIRC you can't sell anything here until you have more than 250 posts.

ebay is an OK place to buy, but its pretty bad to sell.... the 9% fee is ridiculous. Talk about a profitable company!

But you can always go to coin shows, a lot of the people there maybe buying, or local coin shops. But you have to remember they are running a business, so they prob wint buy too high, because they must make a profit to sell.

I'm actually planning on my gold and silver to be a part of an Ira.... sort of... more of a I will save it until then and if I need to sell I can, otherwise I will pass it down to my kids

But selling is always a tricky business, especially online. Although its a it easier to be the seller then the buyer online. Because the buyer has to worry abut sending money, and receiving an item
