I believe that is a new record! Let's see what happens overnight. Could be an interesting stock open in the morning!

Getting real close to $1625 ($1624.25) for gold and $41.05 silver just hit....

On the subject of silver,(rarely discussed here of course, he he), I had a guy I work with who is in school to be an investment banker say he thought silver would not see silver hit 40 again for years, after that recent climb to 50 and fall back to 33, and now he is investing some in paper silver. That ol 1980 mindset still implanted in most of the public, but when it hits 50 again just a few months past its last trip there back in May, I think the majority of those interested will see the positive factors of owning silver in this new age. Big difference in climbing to 50, falling to 33 gaining support and going right back up again, compared to hitting 50, and falling down to 2 bucks an oz., where it stayed around 4 to 20 bucks an oz. for 30 plus years....

An gold just keeps doin what it has been for the last ten years or so, steadily movin on up like the Jefferson's, to a deluxe apartment in the sky....

Kramer just said that gold will continue to climb until it is 5% of every portfolio and it's still way too cheap at $1625. He also said that the best way to hold gold is in GOLD COINS. He said that gold coins represent a great value. Now that is what I like to hear when I turn on the tube in the morning! I think I'll take my Buffaloes and Half Eagles out and let them lay out in the sun for good luck! $1635 by the end of the day maybe?

TPTB will smack it down all day but,$1635 is possible over night. I see $1700 possible by end of the week if this debt ceiling fiasco isn't cleared up by Friday. I see a drop back maybe to $1550 if a reasonable deal is cut. I plan to buy big if we get that dip because I see QE3 coming in September because they can't keep stock prices up without a lower dollar and then prices go to the moon!

Don't do that the crows like to pick up shinny things and carry them away.

Wow.... first the university of Texas takes delivery of a billion in gold bars and now Kramer likes the physical stuff too. Wish I had more now, I'll look for a pull back to pick out some more. Yeah Zig 1550 would be a good buy point if it gets back to that.

Yeah, buying on the dips is the way to go with the Autumn precious metals season on the horizon. I bought the dips a while back and picked up a one ounce Buffalo for $1514 shipped, which feels OK at current levels. I also made a questionable move to buy a one ounce gold coin for $2377 shipped, but I is a very special coin that I just had to have. That price is payed every day for the 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle so I am not alone. It would have been inconsistent in my gold stategy to wait for gold to drop before I bought it because my plans do not call for gold to see $1200 per ounce ever again. The downside is that I put all of my gains in gold purchased at lower levels at risk to buy one coin. However that is one coin that I want to have when I'm old and very possibly it could go for many more fake greenbacks down the road, so at least I locked in a dream coin at these levels even if I am a little ashamed of what I had to pay for it.

Would those be the same ones that you threw into the lake in another post?
