Hello, Thought it would be a lot of fun if everyone could add an idea or their expertise, In creating a simple way to label our pretcious collections. I use a lot of Mylar Flips and writing them out can sometimes be a difficult task. Don't get me wrong, I love doing it, just when its repetitious it gets a little time consuming. So any ideas or input is very needed. You never know we might have the next big thing in the works.
My first plan was to use a stamp or stamps with descriptions set on a roller, kinda like a date stamp. But we add Descriptions Like, Morgan, Seated Liberty, Bust, ect...ect...
To save on space what Abbreviation's should be used.
I figure their will more than likely have to be more than one stamp. Maybe we can have them by denomination, $1, Half, Quarter..ect...
The other thing I was thinking is creating a Home Numismatic Labeling software, I think this would be a lot easier and effective. I'm not even sure it theirs some out making this null. If their are some out now, are they missing anything that would be great to have on their. Or a process that makes it more user friendly.
I don't want to keep going on here, I'm very interested in hearing every ones input. Thanks for your time. Anthony

Great idea, but it's been done. They're even on ebay. I think they actually more time consuming.
Here's on example http://www.primasoft.com/tour_coin/...e_tour05.htm

Take Excel program, expand the size of the cells to just under 2X2 size.(this may take some experimentation to find the exact size you need.) Set the lines between the cells so they will print out. There you go. You can type whatever you want into the cells, change fonts, basically do whatever you want. Then you print it out, cut along the lines with either scissors or a paper cutter, and you have nice professional looking flip inserts. To make them really nice use card stock instead of bond paper. You can use different color paper stock, change the color of the lettering etc.

I use a simple label machine, works great and you can set the font size to fit. I've done over half my flips so fat and it looks clean and tidy.

At coin shows I see a large variety of such lables on cardboard flips. Also, some very long and extravegent labling on plastic flips on a piece of thin cardboard inserted into one side. Lots of the little circular, stick on types too. Don't know how all those are made and really wish they wouldn't. I use pencil on mine due to I'm cheap and want to reuse a 2x2 until if falls apart. If in pencil, it can be erased and the flip reused. Those stick on things are an irritation to cheap people like me since even if you peel them off, there is sticky residue left. Most dealers put info on them in ink too and that also takes time to cover.
Lucky for me at a flea market I purchased a case of a liquid called white out. I use it to cover all info on a 2x2 from a coin show purchase so it can be reused for anything.
