I bought 97 bucks of raw silver garbage from a gal today and she said she was offered 500.00 bucks for this thing. (I do not own it) I told her I would ask about it here as well as show it to a local guy that is a Paper Guru, he is not in today SO.... What is your take of this.

I have seen fold overs and stuff but never anything like this.

That is an obstruction and would be more valuable if the obstructing material were with the note. So in other words some foreign material was present when this note was printed and got in the way. the missing print on the note is on the obstruction.

As far as value is concerned...

Remember the valuable ones have the obstructing material with them.

Thanks for your help. Looking at the others I think this has a bit more WOW factor. That being said a local guy said the same thing regarding the retained part. He also said he had never see an obstruction note anything like this.

Russ, That's a nice one. Just make sure it's not been ironed or anything like that as sometimes people do the silliest things to notes.

Also $500 is too much for this raw note...my 2 cents

I would say the value is closer to $200 - $250 raw. Still an interesting item. Really needs the obstruction to bring the value up.
