As I posted in another thread, for me it's likely to be a Type 1 Standing Liberty quarter in good enough shape to actually see what makes this type different from the Type 2. It seems like it has to be AU or better to actually make out the important details, and the ones I have seen are just way too much above my budget. I guess that's one hole in my 7070 Dansco that's gonna stay empty...

one of my bucket list coins: 1895 proof Morgan dollar. or a 1933 St. Guaden's double eagle (like the king farouk kind).

BarryG: you don't need to plop down a huge amount of cash to differentiate a Type I and Type II SLQ. The hair curl is usually noticeable, and the shield details (number of rivets, and the shield on the shield), chain mail on the chest, even in lower grades. But a BIG difference is on the reverse; three stars below the eagle on the Type II. http://coins.about.com/od/famousrar...breasted.htm

I haven't figured out how to get notified if a thread I start gets replies (assuming such a thing is even possible on this board), so right now it's hit or miss whether I notice any replies...

Next to 'Reply to Topic' is a blue link labeled 'Topic Subscription' - just click on that, and the system will send you a detailed email every time a member posts a reply to the 'subscribed' thread; that email will include a link to that thread, and a link to manage all your subscribed threads. It's all very cool

Good to know!
