It is a Byzantine cupped coin of Manuel I 1143-1180 AD. Denomination appears to be a Billon aspron trachy. (Billon is a silver alloy which by this time had very little silver content and essentially appears as copper.) Description: Obv: The Virgin enthroned facing, nimbate and wearing pallium (ecclesiastical vestment) and maphorium (cloth covering head and worn around neck and chin. She holds infant Christ before her (also with nimbate head). Hard to see but should have MP to left and OV to right. Rev: Manuel standing facing, wearing crown, divitision (military tunic)and chlamys (cloak typically worn to the side), and holding labarum (military standard with CHI-RHO sign) and globus surmounted by patriarchal cross. Value is about $15-$20 in VF. Minted in Constantinople. Sear #1964
