Welcome to the forum! In response to your question about what type of holders people use nowadays, most tend to use something called 2x2 holders, which are fit into plastic sheets, so that they can be held in a binder. This makes it easy to see both sides of the coin without having to remove it from it's holder. The 2x2 holders and plastic binder sheets can be purchased cheaply at your local coin store, or on ebay... Hope that helps:)

If you use the 2x2 holders that are stapled together rather than glued, one tip is to make sure the staples are pushed down into the holders at the back-so they don't scratch other coins that might come into contact with them.....
