I recently bought a 2000 S proof set from someone online. I was looking through the set which is still housed in its original casing. When I was looking at the Maryland quarter obverse with a 10x loupe I noticed doubling in the "quarter dollar" portion and also the C and A of "America". Unfortunately I do not have the equipment to take a picture.
If it is flat shelf like doubling like this: then it is common and worth what it say on the front of the coin. If the doubling is rounded then more images would help to see what you have.
It looks like what happened to my coin. I tried my best to take two pictures just to confirm. I'm sorry the quality isn't that great, but if you can tell please confirm that I have heavy Machine Doubling.
