If the date is 2.5 Denticles from the neck is the coin going to be one of the VAM's?

Um, is this VAM-11 from any particular year or mint? 2.5 denticles from the neck is roughly "normal."

oops sorry about that! This is a 1900 P. Other coins from this year and mark have the date shifted closer to the neck.

Oh, that VAM-11.

Note that VAM-11 is specifically characterized by reverse doubling; the date location is a minor confirming factor to differentiate it from VAM-24. Yours, assuming it has the necessary reverse doubling, looks closer to the VAM-24 date placement.

Your date placement photos should be straight on. The last photo would indicate normal date placement at about 2.5 dents, the rest make it appear near and less than 2 dents.

Where would I look for the doubling on the reverse of this coin.

southsav...the first 3 in the second post are all different coins. I was just trying to give a reference as to what I was seeing differently.

I thought something looked odd, I'm just glad it did not escape me.
