I just had an auction end for a proof quarter that was won by the NewsBoy. I tried sending a pm regarding payment information to the username but it said that the account is not set up to receive emails. Is the NewsBoy an administration tool? A bot gone rogue? Or is it an actual user?

-Thanks

If the first thing an emergent AI does is bid on coins at an auction, I think that can only be a good sign. It's certainly a lot better than unleashing a swarm of nanobots that turn the entire world into a ball of grey goo. Or something like that.

It's tricking us, trying to make us think that it's just like us..when in fact this is a cover up.

Well, if there was anyone who was accidentally going to program an AI, it's Bobby.

Well here's why it happened....

The forum software can behave drastically different across regular users, moderators, and admins. News Boy is a regular member account so I used it to follow through a sale to make sure there was no bugs for normal users. Everything worked fine except I forgot the email is turned off on it so people don't email me about the news.

I think the IETF hit the right balance with the 128 bits thing. We can fit MAC addresses in a /64 subnet, and the nanobots will only be able to devour half the planet.
