Poll Question
I thought for sure once the deal was agreed on the price of silver and gold would drop about 10% each. I am suprised to see it holding pretty steady. What do you think?

Poll Choices
Precious Metals will not be affected
Precious Metals will not drop much
Precious Metals will drop a lot very soon
Precious Metals will rise in the near future
I have no idea whats goin on
Gold will drop more by% than silver
Silver will drop more by% than gold

I voted PMs will not drop much (meaning short term), but longer term I say they will go up more because of the deal. We have raised the debt limit and that means IMHO we will print more money and devalue the dollar.

We also could still be getting downgraded by S&P because the cuts made were not significant.

I think that the stockmarket generally will experience a 'dead cat' bounce, same for shares in PM mining companies.

If the dollar continues to strengthen, which I DONN'T think it will, the stock market will tank because all of the earnings were emerging market earnings. If stocks continue to drop,QE3 will be devised to drive the dollar down again,in which case,PM's will rise. I don't see a longer term scenario where PM's drop except a rush of job creation and huge drops in unemployment. That ain't gonna happen soon.

All of the late night Republican talk guys were really worked up last night. In the first two years of Obama's presidency he was given 2.8 trillion dollars to solve the economies woes. Now he is getting another 2.8 trillion for the last two years in office. None of the problems were solved, they were just postponed again. This is no reason to celebrate or to think that the dollar is anything but weaker. This is terrible news for the country, but I think great for PM buyers. $2000 gold and $120 silver here we come.

This country's credit cards have been maxed out for a long time. Making interest only payments, and raising the card limits is a recipe for disaster down the road. Another 2.8 trillion in debt, which I am sure we will spend. The train is barreling down the tracks headed for derailment. The presses are working overtime at the mints. I think the country is in bad financial shape which is usually good for PM's. That's where my money is going

2.8 Trillion dollars equals a football field with pallets stacked 18 feet high from the goal line to the far 20 yard line and 12 feet high for the last twenty yards. These pallets are filled with new, perfectly stacked $100 bills. Now that is a lot of cash considering a million is a little more than a shoebox full.

I agree they did not fix anything just a stall things longer before the big CRASH just hope PM come down a little in the next couple days as I want to get $5,000 more in sliver will do so when it gets to say $35.00 me thinks it will do that then go back up big time before years end or in 2012.

You can fit 10,000 $100 bills in a shoe box? What size shoes do you wear?
