Looks fine to me, why fake a coin that proberly has more metal value than face value? I also find that the malaysian mint doesn't produce top quality coins. The desigh very year is different is size or some other mess up.

Hi.
As far as I am concern, they are no fake coins of 1 sen detected. Malaysian coins has history of counterfeiting in RM1 denomination and 50 cents. Yes I am agree with Enlil that the intrinsic value of this coin exceeds its face value, thus Malaysia decided to discontinue the production of this coin.

About your coin, actually your coin there is one of the varieties for the 2002 Malaysia 1 cent. Currently I am collecting Malaysia coins variety and I found out there are probably at least 3 varieties of 1 cent Malaysia 2002. Your variety here I named it as "Thin 1 Thin BNM"
