Stack Of 100, 1922, 10000 Mark Bonds

Solace-ian Valued Member Canada 94 Posts	Posted 08/03/2011 12:54 am Hello, A few years ago when my great uncle died at the age of one hundred and two, I inherited his entire collection which consisted of several German bonds from the hyperinflation time of the twenties. This roughly perserved stack of one hundred ten thousand mark bonds is still in its original bank wrapping. Some information on what the value of this stack may be and how to correctly store perhaps for the next generation of my family to enjoy would be greatly appreciated. I dont know the correct way, but for me I would put them into a container with those moister eating beads. Maybe find a food safe container and lock it all away in a safe! Individually, the notes aren't too valuable - this one on eBay is being sold for 10 British pounds. I don;t know if it would be worth more still with it's bank bundle-wrapping intact, though it would be a shame to break it. This ebay auction is for 98 of them, presumably from a broken-up bundle. In the 1960's, when I was in high school, my friend had a shoebox full of these notes, exactly the ones pictured. That amounted to several thousand notes. We decided to sell a few of them at school and threepence each was decided on. A silver thereepence was a bit smaller than a dime. We managed to sell a few hundred of them, with some kids buying a whole bundle, as pictured here. Eventually, the school authorities got nervous about using the school grounds as a place of commercial business and closed our little activity down, but not before we had made total sales amounting to about 10 pounds. That's about 800 notes, all in crisp flat uncirculated condition. Report this Post to the Staff
