seems the person that did so got pretty wealthy just on that one niche selling rolls of these common/uncommon coins. Common date but uncommon condition. When someone counterfeits a common date it doesn't go through as much scrutiny as a rare date would because everyone thinks there is no way anyone would counterfeit a common date like this

Indeed they have, Hawk. It's a shame that some people would rather lie when it is just as easy to tell the truth, steal when working for your living is really not that difficult, or cheat even when there is no gain in it for them. I think of these people as "mis-wired". They've got something in their heads that just isn't the same as a normal person. While I pity these poor fools, I pity those who have to deal with them even more. :-/
