I just bought a 2011 Proof Buffalo and already it only costs $235 over melt. Pretty amazing. I am betting that 2011 will be fairly low mintage with such high sale prices. Anyone agree or am I way off.

I doubt it will be a low mintage. The reason I say I doubt it will be a short mintage is because usually they have to mint a certain amount of Proof coins and they will all be minted and either sold out this year or sit in inventory until they are sold out. Proof coins are not usually like bullion coins where they mint them as long as there is a demand for them, they have to mint a certain amount. I have bought a $50.00 Buffalo Proof every year since they started in 2006 and the price has not gone down since they started selling, so as an investment you did good (I think the 2006 sold from the mint for around 800 bucks and worth over double that in just 5 short years).

I didn't buy a gold buffalo, but I did purchase a 1/4oz Proof AGE. I was hoping gold was going to go down, but decided just to buy it. I bought it for $470 w/ shipping and now it's wroth $412 in melt. The mint has already raised the price to $490 + shipping and it should raise the price again soon.
