I just found this roll searching. I am aware of the other thread regarding the 1969D with no FG. Shall I assume they are both missing the FG for the same reasons? I am inclined to think its a greased filled die. But I am new so...I dunno...Thoughts..

I believe it's a Grease Filled Die. But I can see some of the FG on your coin.

The 1969-D one that has been recently referred to is not from a Grease Filled Die. It is from over polishing. You can see this by the varying degrees of faintness from coin to coin. Eventually it was polished to the point that the initials were no longer there. I have never heard of this on a 1969-S before, but it could be from the same thing.

There is a very very small hint of the end of the "G"...other than that there is nothing. The coin is in pretty good shape imo-- I am not educated in Grading so I couldn't even guess.

In the case of the 69-D there has to be no evidence of either. Here is a photo of my 1969-D.
