Went to the ATM and I withdrew $200 and my girlfriend withdrew $40 and between the two of us we got three star notes . This is actually the first time I have seen star notes that were in circulation (I really wasn't paying attention until this year). Would any of these have a premium over face? Are they worth keeping since they are pretty circulated? Edited by mmorgan22 08/06/2011 01:34 am

Personally I wouldn't keep any of them because they are well circulated and no real special SN's. IMHO, John1

all were printed in full runs of 3.2 million so go ahead and spend them.

Thanks for your help. I figured they were spenders because they are well circulated. I just thought it was weird to get 3 in a row.

It's weird how one is a newer Series 2004 while the other two are older.

this was the greatest ATM find I had ever seen, a Guy on here got 15 of these from the ATM (this is only 10 of them that I bought from him). They were all consecutive and all star notes. I believe I would have sat there and drained my account dry if I had gotten anything like this from an ATM because the whole strap was probably in there

I wish my ATM would give me stuff like that. Then again, the ATMs out here only dispense $20 and $5 notes .

Not keepers for any real value, but I keep every star note I find, some are worth a little bit, most are worth face. So it a few years when I have when I have a few more thousand (I have about $3,000 already) I'm going to take me star notes down to the coin shows and buy myself some higher end stuff that I want.
It's kinda like savings account, but at least I can enjoy the notes in the mean time

That's an excellent way to save money, Wolverine. I'd say keep them anyways because somebody out there will want one to start up a collection. Not every place has a coin shop, or even one that is stocked with everything that everyone wants.
Perhaps if you asked for $10 each transaction, and input that over and over? Just make sure you get no ATM fees, I hate those.
