this coin resides in a PCGS holder. Let me know what you think it will grage. It does have a number grade assigned by pcgs (NT).

Hi Tony,

Not sure I like the toning with this piece, and distract me from giving it a real grade. I know is definitely at least MS 66-FB strong strike. Full detail. Its probably grade at MS 67-FB.

The coin was cracked out of an old ANACS holder, but I don't remember what ANACS had it graded. PCGS graded as MS62, and didn't think it was Full Band. That coin is a what a full band should look like, as those splits are undeniable.

This dime has great detail. Looking at the closeup of the reverse shows that this is definitely "full bands". You can even see rounding of the center bands clearly all the way across. Many "full bands" dimes don't show this degree of rounding. There are also no distracting marks of any kind (that I see) on either the obverse or reverse. I personally do not like the toning, but I have seen other toned coins with very high grades, like ms 66 or 67 (that I would never consider buying). I am really surprised that this coin did not get a higher grade, even though I think the eye appeal is not that great on this coin.

with macmercury, but I love the toning.

That little scratch on the jaw may be her down fall.

Were this in the old holder or the new one? Do you think it may have been lightly cleaned? If not, than is time to upgrade it into your PCGS slab.

Great pick up for a MS 62 price.

Edit: I mean re-grade. These guys must be tired or not paying attention.

No way that is a 62! No way is it not FB! Beautiful coin. The TGPs wonder why so many are starting to have so little regard for their grading. It would be one thing if it were off by a point. But the concensus here is in the MS65-66 range, and FB.
