even though I have never seen this one before they are a very poor TPG (and I use this term loosely) because not only did they get the grade off, they call this coin a 1878 Reverse of 1879 and its not, its a Reverse of 1878 which is very different in appearance and should be easily noticed by anyone that is supposed to have enough knowledge to grade coins http://cgi.ebay.com/1878-7TF-REV-OF...IN_W0QQitemZ130052857574QQihZ003QQcategoryZ39465QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Obviously the coin is not MS67 or the reverse of 79, but still a great bargain at the price it is at right now. I think these are just your typical bargain hunters.

I emailed the seller telling them of the mistake and I see they pulled the auction, wasn't exactly my goal for them to pull the auction . I just figured they would edit the description to describe that it was mislabeled (I have seen PCGS,NGC,ANACS coins mislabeled so not a real big deal). I just wrote to tell them I wasn't sure who this CSI grading company was nor was I writing to dispute their grading of this coin (as grading is subjective) but what isn't subjective is the label stating its a 1878 reverse of 1879 when in fact it is a 1878 reverse of 1878.

This is almost hilarious. I visited the website at https://www.csigrading.com (got it from the label). we are not concerned with normal scratches and dings that are in most coins. In addition, we do not lower the grade on coins that are properly cleaned Unreal. You can even buy the slabs from them, and do it yourself!

Thanks hadleydog for the site info."They grade to their own standard." I guess my joke about the MS-90 Could be if you grade to your own standard.Like how they will "sale you 10 MS-66,MS-67 MORGANS for 450.00 for resale on auction like ebay. "Now I see why this seller has so many MS-66,MS-67 MORGANS. Wonder if he will get his 45.00 ea. price. whos bidding on these?

The Below was a thread from fred and I and the slabs in question are from certified silver LLC a company that teaches you how to start your own Coin Grading Service. With authentic slabs and labels ! wHO WOULD BE A MEMBER OF CERTIFIED SILVER LLC ? They also sell these MORGANS for resale ? http://csigrading.com/MORGAN_S_FOR_RESELL.htmlPosted - 11/25/2006 : 09:27:08 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by Morgan Fred Charlie at Certified Silver https://www.certifiedsilver.com/HomePage.html has dropped all reference to the ANA on his website. CSI has been around for about a year or so. Early on they just sold NGC lookalike slab shells, especially multi-coin holders. One advantage to their shells though was that you could have more than five holes, and the holes were actually the size of the coins, not oversized with clear plastic inserts like NGC used. More recently though , they have developed their own designed shells and begun slabbing on their own account. So far they have used three differnt generations of slab. As mentioned above they also sell these new shells and help set people up as their own slabbing service. Their shells have proven popular with the fly-by-night slabbing crowd and are beginning to replace Coin World and CoinSafe shells are the slab of choice. Most of the recent startups in the past month and a half have used CSI shells.
