I recently purchased a 2011 Medal Of Honor Silver $1 Proof from a seller on ebay. The commemorative is a real stunner.

The problem is it came with no COA or OGP. I read and reread the auction and no where in it did it mention that these items were not included. Nor, did mention that they were included.

Normally, when I have bought or sold commemorates, mint sets, SAEs, etc.. the box, coa and other stuff that came with it is part of the deal unless stated otherwise. ie..coin only.

I contacted the seller through ebay messaging and politely explained that I was happy with the coin. But, disappointed that the COA and OGP was not sent. I even offered to pay for them to ship the items. The reply I received back was:

"I am happy you are pleased with the coin.
The Box and COA were not included in the auction.
Thank you for your business."

If I had known that those items were not part of the auction I most likely would not have bid on it.

My question is: am I wrong for wanting to have the COA, box, sleeve, etc? or am I just being too picky?

No you are not wrong...but I guess in the future if it does not say one way or the other then I'd contact the seller and ask.Now if you want a box and COA you will have to buy them. I hope you got a good deal on the coin though. I have bought a few because the coin was a steal.

No, you are not being picky at all. This is not some 25 year old commem that has bounced from owner to owner, this is a current issue commem(still on sale from the US Mint) so there is no good reason why the OGP has been separated already

Considering that I purchased it at a savings off approximately $22 less than the US Mint's pricing, I hope to be able to purchase the OGP in the future and still have a cost savings. I suspect that a portion of them will be sent out for TPG and the OGP will be available for sale on ebay. I might have to wait a little while, but I think I will be able to get it.

In the future, I will ask the seller if the OGP is include if it is not clearly stated. I have purchased numerous commemoratives, mint sets, proof SAEs, etc, etc, etc....over the past 8 years. This the first time the OGP was not sent with the coin, other than one I purchased that it was clearly stated that the OGP was not included.

Usually, you are right, the COA & the OGP come with the coin. As a matter of fact I am assembling a coin cabinet with a selection of modern proof commemorative silver dollars for my nephew as a wedding present, so I have been looking on e-Bay for such coins w/o packaging as they usually close cheaper than with it. I don't need the OGP since I don't have the coin, and he's not a collector so he won't care. Since you got it for $36/$37, I'd just be happy I didn't pay $65 or $70+ as the going BIN rate. It's a stunning coin, especially the reverse.

The coin is a stunning coin no doubt. I am pleased with the price. I just wanted to make sure that I was right to think that the OGP would normally be a part of the purchase, unless stated otherwise. Thanks for confirming. I will keep a look out for the OGP and if any of you all have it do not want the OGP, I would be glad to purchase it from you.
