Would labeling a coin roll with a dymo labeler damage the coins inside?

Not sure I fully understand the question If you are asking whether the clear plastic label itself can damage the roll, then the answer would be no but it might tear the paper wrapper if you tried to remove it. If you apply the label to the roll with a hammer, then your answer would be yes

I have several older wrappers that were ink stamped with the date & MM, no obvious damage after 25+ years of storage.

Wouldn't that depend on how hard he hits the roll?
And what if he used a rubber hammer?

If you put the roll inside a plastic roll, no chance of damage, maybe.
Also, note that the lables are different from different manufacturers. One may use glues that could damage a coin and others may have no effect at all. You would have to know what type of glues are being used on that tape.
