HI,

I'm specializing in Rare Banknotes pre-1960's from certain countries (Egypt, Greece, France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Yugoslavia & Silver Certificates) which depict Mythical Gods, Factitious Characters, Statues or Sculptures.

At the time being, I'm doing a research on the depicted allegoricals & what they represent.

I even collect "old" pages taken out from old books/magazines/newspaper which illustrate such allegoricals for demonstration & comparison purposes.

I was wondering if someone could grade this note for me & advice if it worth such a price?

Much appreciate your feedback.

Well the note is pick #16A because it has the regular style serial number. My 11th edition has the prices as follows
Good=$50
Fine=$175
XF=$1000

As for my grade.....Without having it in hand, I would say it is between G and F because there is no way to tell if there are any pin holes. There are 3 veritcal folds and 1 horizontal that I can see.

Thanks onejinx,

Actually I was confused because the seller grades it GVF!

Some references say GVF is VF+ & some say it's EF!

In any case, would you grade it VF?

Considering the note with NO pinholes ...

Cheers

Well let's discuss grades of notes.....
Poor
Fair
Good
Very good
Fine
Very fine
Extremely Fine
AU
UNC

For the note to be VF the note would still have to be somewhat crisp still and not all floppy.

That being said, the highest I would grade it is Fine.

If it is a very rare note that doesn't come onto the market that often, you will see the note go higher then book value. I don't know the series to know how rare it is. I wouldn't have paid that much for it.
