What's the main problem you have with this, rg? Is it the high price? $39 for 10 uncleaneds is a little high, especially if they're slugs. The hype? It's hardly one of the more outrageous claims (you can find much worse on the 'Bay). I think the plastic thing you can't make out is one of those cheap little magnifying glasses like they sell with stamp collector kits. The cleaning instructions? Depends on exactly what they say. I don't think they're going to do much harm with a plastic toothbrush.

For me, the "value" or otherwise would be tied to the usefulness or otherwise of the CD database and instruction booklet. I doubt it would be much of an improvement on what you can find on the FORVM forum and Wildwinds online database.

Things like this, if done well, could create keen new ancients collectors. If done poorly, it could create far more people who won't have a bar of ancient coins.

Nice pictures Bobby, and as I might have guessed, you guys don't believe I should be sending for this and starting my very own ancient coin collection. I thought that leaving all that dirt etc on them, made them look authentic, why take it off?

Now old Dad that sound like me after a weekend of yard work

old dirty and authentic looking - Why clean it all off
