Is there any knowledge about this error? See images. The lower bout of the "2" is filled slightly, and is definitely not on the same plane as the background field of the coin. There is also a small "dimple" on the base of the "2", which appears to have been in the die, and not caused by trauma after it was minted. Looking at an extreme angle from the right side of the "2", there is a small line indicating more metal is included in the lower half of the "2", visible with a low power loupe.
I noticed this when the appearance of the 2 appeared 'different' with the naked eye.
I'd appreciate any information anyone has. Would it be worth sending to a grading company for their opinion?
Thanks to any and all.
Bob
