Just got an E-mail from John Wexler and my coin is the 002 die pair. Because of the condition,AU it is in the price range of $100. I'm a little disappointed that it isn't worth more, but it did only cost me a cent In total it cost me less then $10 to have Mr. Wexler attribute it so I recommend that any of you who have an RDV or think you do mail it to John Wexler, I think it's worth it. Just wanted to let the family know. John1
Here is the photo https://goccf.com/t/85290 Just wondering what you all think of the $100 value given by Mr. Wexler. There are less then 30 known pieces and that includes slabbed and raw, a hundred dollars seems a little low IMHO. Thoughts? John1
I believe that value is off. I have seen on the internet where the 1988-P has sold for around $100 to as much as $400. I have also seen on this very forum where the 1988-D is more scarce. I have even seen where it is believed that the 1988-D is rarer than a 1999 WAM which has gone as high as $400+. To have one in AU 23 years after it was produced is phenomenal, especially on a Zincoln. The discovery peace was only a few years ago. So most have been travelling around the country from pocket to pocket. $100 seems a bit off. Hang on to it.
John1, as I mentioned before, the last two I watched sold went for $400 and $430. They were BU coins but also they were raw.Last time I checked, the highest graded was only MS-61 for the 88-D.
