Guys, I turned 63 today. Earlier in the week, I decided to buy myself something for my birthday, so I bought this nugget from one of my regular sellers in Northern California, and it arrived today - good timing, huh? It weighs 10 grams (actually just a tad over) and I think it's pretty spiffy. I took some pics with my little blue light special web cam (bought it about five years ago) and I'm afraid they're a mite fuzzy, but you can get a general idea of how it looks beside my left index fingernail. Thanks guys - spent the day doing what I seem to do best.....absolutely nothing! :)
Harry, this is my biggest nugget.....so far. Being a California nugget, the purity should test out at around 92% - not quite as pure as your Aussie gold (as a rule) but I'm certainly not unhappy with it.

Yes I know what you mean I paid for a stamp (US Sc22) from Germany with some panned gold (Gold from Peel River NSW),the seller sent it to get refined and it assayed in at 96%, Victorian gold is between 96% to 98% which is very rich anyway I'm glad you found a nice one to add to the Jar on the other hand the shape of this nugget would make a nice jewelry piece as that's what I'd do with it. regards Harry

Harry, this is another picture I took of it - didn't plan on posting it because of the dim lighting, but your suggestion about making it a jewelry piece prompted me to - just a trick of the lighting, but it looks like some little critter's head in this picture, huh?

G'Day Rusty just sold the gold from the last 5 trips + odd ones I had laying around,
a total of 3 1/2oz of old yellow I needed to part with so I sold it to this buyer in Bendigo he gave me gold price less 20% and knocked another 5% off for the fine dust (15gr),
the dust is very pure gold but as he said he normally doesn't handle it.
My next trip will be at Easter next year but as far as the gold collecting concern it's getting a little sparse out in the gold fields and getting harder to find each month,
look after yourself Rusty and I'll keep in touch,
regards Harry.

Thanks again guys.
Samoo - your birthday is a perfect time to be good to yourself - in my case, I usually get something I know nobody else's going to get for me.
Harry - I'm still just dumping mine into my little jar.....when I can afford to - bummer about the discount from your buyer on the dust - looks to me like he'd be happy to get it because of the purity - once it's smelted, you can't tell if it was dust or nuggets. Oh well, he's gotta make a living, too, and, if you're happy with the transaction.....
