The coin on ebay is definitely a fake.
Notice he also has a supposed 1954 penny for sale and spins an unbelievable yarn about it.

I have absolutly no idea.
But a coin of this calbre most certainly wouldn't have a start price of $9.99.
That rings all the warning bells

Awful isn't it. It must be one of the least convincing fakes around.
But it's still been bid up to $416

Looking at his feedback as a buyer:

Notice he bought from "greatamericancoinco"; a notorious purveyor of fakes - whose current listings are

The Australian predecimal coins are still legal tender so if charges were brought against anyone for selling a fake 1930 penny say, they could face a gaol term.
