Hey folks,
I have a bunch of nickels, and I was wondering how to spot a missing chrome.

Thanks

Take nickels dates like 48/49 which are nickel....place them on a table.......then compare with "chromed" coins....if the finish looks the same....then no chrome.....if different..chrome

Thanks, I got one more question. I have this coin and it looks like it's missing chrome in some area. Have a look. It's not the lighting it actually looks like that.

Not a missing chrome variety. The chrome 'missing' on your coin is from wear. Look in between the letters of the legend and inside the King's ear, there is still chrome there.
