This is the ARNAULT issue of 1837, Cat# LC-4A and according to Charltons Colonial Issues the only issue of this type therefore there are no varieties for this token.

Hi REDWINE,
The token you refer to on E Bay (your link) is not the same coin as you show at the start of your thread.
PLease look at the maples and determine which coin you are referring to.

Hi Neweden
There are a number of coins on the link. None of them seem to be the same as mine.
I'm confused, is there only one token for Un Sou in Montreal in an unknown year?

Hi again REDWINE,
No, there are actualy quite a few, but they have suttle differences in design.
For example, the one you display at the start of this thread shows maple leaves on the reverse. Others such as the Belleville issue of 1838 show an open wreath on the reverse, and yet others with un sou show sixteen cherry leaves on the reverse.
All un sou examples come from Montreal, and there are other examples too numerous to mention here.
I am sure elsewhere on this forum there are links to help you understand better..

Many thanks Neweden :)
So, ARNAULT issue of 1837, Cat# LC-4A
I'm not really a collector of North American coins, I just happened to have gathered quite a few over the years....
Another interesting insight historically.
