The below price guide has the value of an AU coin at $175. Does that seem about right? I wonder if this coin is special enough to slab and grade? I also noticed the scratch, does this hurt the value? You guys will probably laugh at me, but I kinda like coins with small imperfections. Cant expain why, I guess I just like coins that have been in circulation doing what they were meant to do, and then pulled from circulation by some sap like me. LOL! http://www.lincolncentresource.com/priceguide.html

Nice find for sure. I think th $175 is a bit high and would expect more like $80 if I were to sell.

I agree with Maineman, the coin has some problems. $75 would be fair.

So its not worth slabbing? Though I might slab it just to help preserve it, will slabing help preserve a coin?

Not worth getting slabbed, you'd end up almost losing money after fees and postage. I'd rinse it with acetone, put it into an airtite holder and call it a day.

1998 and 2000 are not too rare if you live in the east coast, they are only a couple bucks each unless mint condition. the 1999 however is more rare and that's why the price is a lot higher.
