At least I assume it is a Chinese coin...it looks to my untrained eye like chinese writing and it has a dragon on it, which is often associated with China, but what do I know?

Anyway, help with ID would be much appreciated.

What I really find interesting about this one is that the dragon and the peacock are apparently sharing a drink?

This is a 1 Chiao (10 cents) coin from 1926. In was made for the Pu Yi wedding. Krause number is Y#334. Type in Pu Yi wedding and you will find plenty of info on these.

Score!

A quick google shows this is going for more than what I paid for the whole lot I got this in. Not that that really matters, as I think I like it too much to sell, but all the same.

thanks for the assistance, this was going to drive me nuts otherwise.

I'm going to have to get me a krause book.

A correction - that's actually 20 cents, Y 335

By the way, interesting design that it has the sun symbol, but is stylized to look like the Bank of Japan's seal. But Manchuria was under Japanese occupation at that time...

Yep, clearly a 20 cent coin. In this condition that does not make any real difference in value. I typically see them going for anything from $60 to $100 in this condition regardless of whether it's a 10 or 20 cent coin.
