I see absolutely nothing wrong with that coin. And the winning bid was well under value.

It sure doesn't look UNC to me. It also looks a little on the cleaned side to me.

I hope your not the buyer or seller. I can tell you for sure this coin has something wrong with it. It looks cleaned for sure. the luster is gone for a coin that would truly be red

It's red but looks a little worn. It must be cleaned, and it doesn't even look good at all.

That has been clearly polished and/or dipped... This coin is XF-40 max for MS-64 money... At least there is a return policy, and it's a high-rated seller at that... Maybe they posted the wrong pics because my mind's boggled on this one... Hopefully the buyer returns it...

Again I say, there is nothing wrong with the coin. I dont believe its an MS 64, but even an AU is worth more than what was paid for it. I do not believe that is polished and dipped, who knows? MS 64 is 5000, so they did not pay MS 64 money. They paid AU money.

When someone says something is WRONG with a coin, I take that to mean fake or altered or the like. The seller simply over graded. It happens.

It is not even in AU condition. How can you say nothing is wrong with this coin. How does a obverse get so worn that many of the details are hard to make out and stay red in color. The wear has softened the edges of the devices. That comes from circulation. Circulation added with 88 years equals a non-red copper patina. This coin without a doubt has had something done to it. The reverse looks pretty nice, but the obverse is a dead giveaway.

Also a look at the seller's feedback revealed 2 neutral and one negative for 'cleaned" coins.

Dead giveaway is the obverse. When a coin is that red and is lacking details, something was done to it. The obverse is a little worn and would be extra fine range, not even au to me.

I was going to mention the lack of detail on the obverse
from reading here for a few years I learned that's one dead give away to a dipped or polished coin
also the reverse has wear on the top left side making me suspect the coin was dipped
I'm in no way an expert but there is a reason this coin didn't go for 5 grand and it looks to me like thats because it has been dipped

For a minute ignoring the excessive wear, didn't anyone blow up the photo and see all those little chips, dents, etc.? Both sides have those little dents and dings.
As to wear, I thought Lincoln had an ear?
If you click on any of the other coins shown there it appears they all have those little dinks, dents, marks. Must have had all of them in the same bag and used for a hammer.
