nah... did the "put in a flip and draw some intersections on it" and I get nothing... must be a gas bubble...

It appears to be on the die. What it is unknown to me. You can see the die flow over the spot in question. It can't be a gas bubble. The coin isn't plated.

One place where Kennedy clashes appear are eagles wings in front of Kennedy's mouth, as well as the other usual low points on the coin. Just found a clash today but it's a bit too faint for me to get good pics.

I forgot, it has another raised area on the coin by the 2. The lines you see are hits/marks... Nothing lines up as well for a clash.

I guess the only thing then it could be is the die itself being damaged by some blunt force. It wouldn't be from use as that creates cracks then die chips, etc. The void on the die would create a raised part on the coin.

Using the overlay, how then does something like this show up.... wierd... (this is a different coin)

On the image above I posted, you can see the feathers that were part of a clash on your second coin. During a clash the fields touch, so the outline devices may tranfer onto the opposite die during a clash. On your coin you can see where the polishing/cleaning to remove a clash were not sucessful and left what you are seeing.
