"there's a sucker born every minute" I believe was one of his sayings.

Nice ... Gotta love that art deco eagle on the reverse. Interesting to observe the evolution of the eagle motif by sculptor Henry Kreis ... take a look at his earlier version on the reverse of the 1935 Connecticut half.

Anyways ... by time this coin was issued I am certain many collectors of the day ... having been pelted with 19 separate issues in 1936 alone .... were feeling very much the pain of PT Barnum famous expression regarding suckers.

The 1935 Connecticut is one of my favorite designs. I'm really jonesing for a 1936 Gettysburg or Cincinnati to add to my set.
