On the obverse all you can see is the bust and some text at the top-right. On the reverse there's just.. a square. What exactly is this thing?

Possibly,Egypt KM# 334 10 Milliemes AH 1342/1924. Started life at about5.2 grammes.

Yep, Egypt 10 milliemes, the 1924 type with right-facing portrait. When it was new, it would have looked more like this example on WCG.

Thanks, Alganbagerap and Sap for the picture. I didn't think anybody would actually be able to tell me what it was haha. Wow, 1924.. That makes this the oldest foreign coin I own.

As others have noted--for a worn down coin, it's immediately recognizable.
The "square" you see on the reverse is the diamond-shaped digit for the number 0.
