This is a MS-62 with a rare STAR grade, for the unique color. I like the color on this one as it starts dark green an works across about every color in the rainbow spectrum moving across the face to the golden side....

Never heard of star. Was it a replacement coin?

See that little star beside the 62, lol. Something NGC came up with to help move the plastic more efficiently I figure, lol....
I could care less about all the fancy grades an titles, I just like the coin, as I figure one like this is one of a kind....

NGS says, "NGC assigns a to coins with exceptional eye appeal for their assigned grade." It's a way of recognizing an individual coin's unique visual characteristics beyond it's standard grade. Pretty cool.

Thanks CW! I figure investing in a piece like this is far from setting ones money on fire, lol. As it seems like a safe investment to me, regardless of spot silver price. There will always be numismatic guys who will want to own items like that coin I figure, especially when it is graded by either PCGS or NGC. Many fakes going around on ebay and the world, so that is another reason I don't mind bidding on graded plastic. If it is fake an it slips by either of the two fore mentioned, I figure that hunk of metal is just destine to always be trusted as a piece of genuine silver.... You may say well a good con man can make a fake PCGS slab to identical perfection, and that would not be easy with that label on the back. And if so, good luck replicating that color with some liquid chemicals an a paint brush, lol. An if you made it loose and sent it in to grade, I doubt many fakes then pass inspection by the graders....

Been working on trying to acquire at least one example of each item produced by USVI in the '80's. I have acquired a ton more since I took this pic, including some of the very rare pieces. I think I only need 1 more of the 1 oz rounds, 1 more of the 10oz bars and one of the 100 oz A-Mark branded bars to have a complete set.

My newest addition! I got this buying from an online retailer, have never done that before! But I used goldmart. The only problem with them is that its kind of slow. Took 3-4 days for them to receive the check, and then after they receive the check, they wait 7 business days, AND THEN they ship it. But once it was shipped it got here in like 1-2 days. I will definitely use them again if silver keeps dropping!

Picked these up from the local "We buy gold & silver" guys a week or so back when spot was $27.72. Spot +$5 '08 +$10, '09 +$3 '09 & '10 +$3 each Also picked up a 2002 Britannia @ +$10. I gave the guy a list of what I like and what years I already have and stop in about once a week. When he gets in something I want he throws it in a drawer & pulls them out when I visit. It pays to develop a relationship with a local dealer when you can.

Here is my current hoard minus the monster box my dad and I purchased a few months before his death. It resides in his vault and I still bare to open safe yet. I know they are just coins but they are the coins we collected together so it brings up an aspect that I have never had to deal with before. I will probably never sell a one of his coins unless forced to. Anyway with my Morgan Album and silver eagle sets I figure there is about 800 oz in the picture, and a nice 38 special. I miss you pops, but you would be proud, I'm doing it big.
