An excellent textbook example of "buying the (Red)book before the coin!

Wow that is crazy! I can not believe how people who are bidding don't do research before buying coins!

Remember that with well over 300,000,000 people in the USA and so many have never seen a Half Dollar at all. Then they see this add and think WOW, a real Half Dollar and rush to buy them. Ever watch the HSN where they sell hundreds, thousands and more of something you would normally throw out.

I have these pennies from the 1980's, they are 90% silver and 10% gold. I will start the bidding at $10 per coin... sold! to the guy who didn't do his research before bidding!
Amazing...

LOL, People do text book examples of this all the time. Ironically enough this actually just happened to me Last night. I have a coin for sale on another site. Its a 2010W PF70 Ultra Cameo by NGC. I was asking $100 for it and I had a college professor contact me and insisted that I was asking way to much for my coin due to the fact he could buy a 2010 Eagle for $45 online. Even after proving what I was offering was no where near a mint tube coin. He still insisted I was asking to much. So if there are people like that I agree with just carl and can see the complete opposite where someone would buy a coin due to the fact they think it is extreamly rare.

A 2010 ASE is totally different than a 2010W PF70 Ultra Cameo. Having it graded also increases value. The professor also probably had a mint 2010 instead of a proof 2010W. There is a difference.

Oh trust me I Know. I sent his several links to the coin I was offering, the diference between proofs and Bullion Eagles, completely degraded him with the website he was quoting (which was on my side) and even pictures of the two coins side by side. He still though I was crazy and said they were the same. Not to worry I got him back his signature block said Professor Global Communications, so I asked him what you teach people to work on telephone poles? LOL. He didn't reply to my email after that.
