I'm not sure if I am going to be able to help you regarding the Chinese banknote but I'll try even though I do not have the Krause reference book.
The note is a "Kwangtung Province, $5, 1931". It is the "local currency" version as opposed to the "national currency" version.
In "Chinese Banknotes" by Smith and Matravers it is identified as K56-10a.
The "a" in "K56-10" refers to the signatures of the Bank President and Vice-President. I'm guessing that this is the question you are having in regard to identifying the version of the note as "Pick S2422d".
As far as I can tell, your banknote, including the two signatures, is the same as this one which the seller identifies as P-S2422a: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAP...762048+
So, you may want to compare your note to S2422"a" instead of "d".
If your question does not actually involve identifying signatures then please disregard all of the above.
