After hitting up many banks and credit unions today getting rolls of dimes, I started to ponder. Are the chances of getting silver/rare/error etc. coins better when searching through automatic machine rolled rolls that the banks ship in, or "hand" rolled bank rolls that are rolled at the banks? What do you all prefer? I guess I have never kept track of this, but it might be a good time to start to add to the stats.

I believe that the consensus is that while there may be a slightly bigger chance of scoring a large cache of good stuff in hand-rolled rolls, the find rates are typically about the same.

Due to the recent prices of Silver, you would be lucky to find a Silverish Dime in any type of roll from anywhere.

Customer wrapped are usually the best cause sometimes you can get a rolled collection that hasnt been seperated in a rolling machine.

Customer wrapped are great... Except when they're somebody's dumps. I get 1-2 silver dimes per box on average for plastic-wrapped brinks rolls.
