Anyone know where I can purchase bulk pennies? Rolled or bagged?

J and M Jewellery is supposed to have a collection of something like 100,000 large cents...try them.

Just curious, why do you want so many pennies? Wouldn't it take a lifetime to hunt through all of those and then roll them back up again...?

I often wonder what the Coinstar people do with all their coins? I have been tempted to phone them or try to catch the guy who empties the machines in my area and put a bug in his/her ear......

Welcome to the forum brexzz1. The cheapest place to get pennies is the bank by the box.
I know a coinstar guy. He ownes the right to take a percentage upon redemtion, takes silver out and I believe nickel too.
He then rolls all rolls in a machine and distributes the orders to stores, buisness and banks.
They do not remove the copper I believe.

I guess it depends on how fast you need them (for whatever reason). If you need them all at one you can place a special order with your bank but they will most likely charge you a fee and you would have the problem of transporting them. If you have time, just drive around and pick up a few boxes here and there. Banks usually won't charge consumers for change unless it's an excessive request.

I had always thought that talking to schools in my area might work. They all seem to have penny drives at various times of the year.

It still amazes me how people will walk by change on the ground, a Penny saved is a Penny earned,
