Bad environmental damage both obv. & rev. and really worn on obv. I wouldn't even grade it a Good.

I'm not trying to be confrontational - but would that really make AU details? the ear and hairline appear to be almost completely worn away, the lapel at the neck is almost not visible. just for my own enlightenment - really AU details?

Agree with dbrablec, seems like a lot of wear on the obverse...

check out his hair thats one sign. If it was lower in grade the hair would also be worn. I think your seeing affects of weak strike and environmental damage

The wheat stalks show the true wear the best. They are hardly worn, just corroded. The corrosion has affected the obverse the most and removed a lot of the detail.

Weak strike with corrosion.I find these kinds of detail coins hard to grade, but then again I'm not as experienced as everybody else here.

I don't think it would be graded by anyone.

It looks like it was a MS coin before its environment went all to heck.

How would you pitch it? I know, "1909-S Simi-key date, Strong AU details, up grade your collection. disclaimer: Slightly weak strike, with some environmental problems. Segs will be happy to grade this coin.

As long as you give a 7 day right of return it can't be any better.
