I couldn't find much on this coin. I picked it up at and auction for around melt. Its graded by NGC VF20. I checked around on ebay with no results. PCGS.com/NGC.com didn't even show the coin for pricing. I have an interested party but I am dumbfounded on how to price it accurately. What do you think this can bring?

I think that the price guides might, for once, be underestimating a little. The last VF20 (NGC) on Heritage went for $1610 last April, and only three in any grade have been offered at Heritage all year. Quite the rarity, and $1500 wouldn't be out of the question. So, purchased at melt, plan on tripling your money.

By the way, I took the liberty of editing the thread title to get the date right.

Folks who can afford to collect old halfbirds by date can afford better grades.
