i have a quarter that has faint appearance to have the washington obverse poking through onto the reverse, and on the obverse, faint feathers from the lower section of the eagle along the outlines of washingtons face from the reverse. ive done some measuring, and overlapping of photos on adobe and it's clear that the lines match up with the other sides.
i'd post some pics but my camera is out of batteries >_<. I just was wondering what this error is called again so I can describe it better. I know its common on some VAM morgans...
sounds like clashing, where the two dies have hit together without a planchet between them and it transfered some of the details from one die to the other and it came out on the next coins minted
exactly.. couldnt have described it better. and yes, that's what this quarter looks like it has. not a huge amount of it, but with a close enough eye, there are some obvious to the naked eye.
