I bought these three coin folders at an antique store. I have never seen anything like them. I did a little research online and couldn't find much information on them.

What do you know about these? Do some of you older wiser numismatists remember seeing these?

I'd like to sell them. I could either put them on ebay or sell them in the "for sale" forum. Which would be better, and how much would they be worth?

Onto the descriptions!

#1 and #2: Washington quarters 1950-
They are about 8" long and 5" high. They appear to be unused, but the edges have faded a little bit. There are spaces for dates 1950-1958 P, D, and S, plus 26 blank spaces.

#3: Liberty-Head Dollars 1878-1886
This folder has been used. Some of the spaces have been punched through, and there is a little mildew damage on a couple pages. All the spaces are labeled; there are no blank spaces.

Meghrig was the Whitman (Harris) of their day.

I do not know how I missed this one before, but they look really nice. An interesting piece of history.

One of the coin dealers that gives me all his Albums and Folders has given those in the past. Never thought of trying to find out to much about them. Is there a date on those? Just as with the old Red Books, might be worth something to a collector of those.

These holders were advertised on a regular basis in the ANA's The Numismatist during the 40's, 50's and 60's. Prices in the 50s were 75 cents each, during the 60s they got up to $1.50. They also offered albums.

It seems they faded away after Whitman began heavy promotion of its folders/albums line.

Wouldn't know how to price them today. As noted above, some dealers would give them away to be rid of them. Others might try to get a few bucks because of their age and relative scarcity today.
