There's discussion on another forum about how the 2010 2011 silver proof sets have potential of being highly numismatics due to the low mintage numbers.

Basically, the proof sets selling at the mint are already almost at break even point (spot + face value of Presidential dollars, sacawaka dollar, nickel, penny). Plus, the 2010 legal sell date ends this august, and the 2011 ends in December. Both mintages are very low compared to the 1995 set, where the half kennedy and dime sell for a very high numismatic value!

Are the numbers really that low? Is it just that people stopped buying because of the price of silver? I thought the opposite might be true. Or is it that people wanted to get silver proofs of the State Quarters but don't care about the ATB Quarters?

The example that was given is that the 1995 silver proof kennedy and silver proof dime have mintages of about 600,000, and they are ONLY available in these proof sets. the mintage for the 2010 is under 500,000 and the current mintages for the 2011 are a bit less. I was told the 1995 silver proof kennedy sells upward to about $300. Although that is purely a numismatic value for collectors.

Either way, the sets are very close to break even for spot value. And Maybe, in 10 years, collectors trying to complete their kennedy sets will pay big bucks for them :P

I picked up 3 2011 sets, and as OP mentioned, 2010 sets are done!
